COMPETITION RULES

Print Competitions

To enter one of our print competitions, you must do two things:

  1. Create and mount a print, in the size required.

  2. Create a JPEG or TIFF version of your image, as in the PDI instructions below, and submit it by the deadline given.

This is so that the comp results can be displayed on our website.

Any club member can submit one or more entries, and help with editing, printing and mounting is always on hand!

Our print competitions are usually marked by an external judge, an experienced photographer from another club.

PDI Competitions

You can enter photos in TIFF or JPEG formats.

Please name them like this: Photo title_Your name

In Landscape format, they should be a maximimum of 1400 pixels wide  x 1050 pixels high.

In Portrait, they should be 1050 pixels high.

It works better to send them as attachments, rather than insert them into the text of the email. This preserves the filenames and proportions.

Any club member may submit one to four entries in a PDI (projected digital image) competition. Please don't submit a pic which has featured in a previous club comp.

A few suggetions for editing your entries are here.

As a start, try to have horizons or verticals straight,  and adjust the levels so as not to have solid black shadows or solid white highlights.

Again, all club members are happy to help!

submitting entries

Please submit digital entries by email, using the address found in the Members' Contact page here.
